This Sunday 1st April the Canberra Hillclimb Circuit at Fairbairn Park hosts the 2012 HeartKids Hillclimb.
The event is being run in memory of my younger brother William who died at the age of 12 from complications of a heart defect that he battled with from birth. He was a big car racing fan and this event idea was spawned back in 2009 as a way to celebrate what would have been William’s 21st birthday. Since then we have taken many smiling kids for laps around the circuit and raised over twelve thousand dollars for the cause.
The charity event aims to raise the profile of HeartKids, who provide huge support, encouragement and hope to families of children with Heart Disease.
We would love your support, if you are free on Sunday come out for a look. Entry is free but I hope we can tempt you to buy a sausage sandwich, an espresso coffee, maybe a raffle ticket and definitely watch some time-trial car racing.
Action starts on track at 9am and continues trough until about 430pm. We will also be running passenger laps for youngsters throughout the day (and maybe some young at heart passengers if we have space too!).
The Canberra Hillcimb Circuit is at Fairbairn Park with via Sutton Road. Google Map
