An Anzac weekend clash, a Saturday afternoon showdown with the Crusaders and Friday night footy against the Waratahs highlight the University of Canberra Brumbies 2015, Canberra-based fixtures, as announced by SANZAR on Thursday.
The revelation of the 2015 Super Rugby draw comes at the same time the UC Brumbies officially launched their 2015 Membership campaign, with supporters given plenty of incentive to get behind the club over the next 12 months.
Along with the domestic home and away games, the UC Brumbies will face the Highlanders on Friday night before Anzac Saturday and play four home games in a month between April and the start of May.
The season will once again start with the UC Brumbies hosting the Reds at home and last year’s narrow loss in the corresponding fixture will no doubt have the home side fired up for a win.
A South African, High-Veldt double will visit GIO Stadium in 2015 with the Cheetahs and Bulls both making the journey to Canberra while the final round showdown against the Crusaders is sure to draw plenty of attention thanks to its 3.30pm kick-off.
Head Coach Stephen Larkham said the draw would provide UC Brumbies fans with plenty of reasons to get behind the team in 2015 with an eight-game membership.
“This is a fantastic draw for the Brumbies, with some of the competition’s biggest teams heading to Canberra,” Larkham said.
“Membership is one of the best ways for fans to show their colours and support our club. The guys in the office have had today circled in their diaries for some time and we look forward to plenty of calls coming in over the next couple of months.”
Away from home, the UC Brumbies will travel to Auckland to face the Blues and play their first ever game in New Plymouth against the Chiefs.
The South African tour sees the team once again return to Newlands in Cape Town to face the Stormers and then north to Johannesburg where they meet the Lions.
For the second consecutive year the UC Brumbies will face the Waratahs at the SFS rather than Homebush and with the game being scheduled for Sunday afternoon, both clubs are expecting plenty of support to head up the Hume Highway.
