The Liberals have resumed their usual torpor, but the Chief Minister shows every sign of still being hard at work.
He’s announced the opening of a new Animal Breeding Centre at Tidbinbilla.
- “Tidbinbilla’s breeding program for the endangered Southern Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby will be the first to use the Centre which features large outdoor pens supplying natural food, 12 individual pens – six with heated flooring – and viewing panels for researchers.
“Special educational opportunities will be developed through the Centre for students of all ages to work alongside Wildlife Officers and gain a unique insight into wildlife conservation.
“The Centre complements Tidbinbilla’s existing facilities including a state-of-the-art veterinary centre, Corroboree Frog breeding facilities and the stunning 30â€hectare Sanctuary at Tidbinbilla.
“The ACT Government continues to invest heavily in the Tidbinbilla precinct to create a place that is dedicated to conservation, research, education and the protection of endangered species and also offers opportunities for recreation and tourism,” Mr Stanhope said.
Many thanks to Mr. Stanhope’s office for sending in this picture of The Chief meeting a Southern Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby.
