
1. The Cascades Swimming Hole at Googong is being closed:
- Please note: The Cascades Swimming Hole at Googong Dam is temporarily closed due to construction work on the dam spillway. Gates have been erected at the entrance to the swimming hole to restrict public access and Rangers will be patrolling the area. The swimming hole will be re-opened as soon as there are no safety risks. The ACT Government apologises for any inconvenience. For further information on the closure of the Cascades Swimming Hole, contact the ACTEW Project Information Line on 6248 3563.
Googong Foreshores is 10 kilometres south of Queanbeyan and is managed as a water catchment, wildlife refuge and public recreation area. Sail your yacht, paddle your canoe or fish for trout or native fish. You can quietly observe the wildlife or ride your mountain bike on the fire trails.
