The Canberra Roller Derby League’s 2013 season continues with the fourth bout on August 24th. Clashing on the track for the first time since the 2012 grand final will be last year’s champions, the Black ‘n’ Blue Belles and the always fierce Red Bellied Black Hearts. Previous bouts have seen these teams alternate in defeating the other by slim margins, so who will walk away victorious this game? Will it be the Black ‘n’ Blue Belles, getting into gear for another season’s ownership of the CRDL Derby Darby Cup after solidly taking on the Surly Griffins, 246-143? Can the Black Hearts band together and emerge, madder and more poisonous than cut snakes, after losing to the Brindabelters by a few points, 236-234?
It’s going to be derby the way Canberra loves its full-contact roller skate sports: fast, furious, and full of hits–but without compromising on cerebral tactics. Make sure to get your tickets to avoid missing out on what promises to be an excellent reunion!
