The annual Dragons Abreast Canberra Dragon Boat challenge is on again to raise funds for Dragons Abreast and other local and national groups supporting women on their journey with breast cancer.
Corporate and social teams from hospitals, embassies, government departments, schools and fitness centres will race for fun and glory and raise funds for a great cause.
This year the event is being run by Dragon Boat ACT and hosted by Dragons Abreast Canberra and will have a ‘bush capital’ theme in keeping with the Canberra Centenary.
Spectators are invited to join the fun of seeing the boats racing with their ceremonial heads and tails as well as reflect on the Mini Field of Women (pink silhouettes representing the 14,000 women diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia each year) and a throw a flower into the lake at Flowers on the Water ceremony.
Rotary Club of Canberra North will run the BBQ and Om Shanti College is providing massages. Of course there will be also be coffee and cupcakes on sale.
