Ok I have a confession to make. I play competition billards.
There is a small community of players who play in fixtures organised by the Billiards and Snooker Association ACT. There are also snooker comps.
Games are played weekly, on a handicap basis, ie better players have a higher target score. Venues are clubs with full size tables.
Maybe you played at Uni, or used to watch Pot Black, or you were a gun. Whatever, new players of any age/ability very welcome. Games are played in good spirit, no prize money, just those lovely shiny trophies. Dress code ranges from casual to downright slack.
Costs are minimal, contact Bob http://www.bsaact.org/ and he can put you in touch with a club near you.
