Fatal road accident at ANU

A male driver has died after a single vehicle collision into a tree within the Australian National University precinct this afternoon (Thursday 10 April).

Police responded at around 3.10pm after a report of a collision on Sullivans Creek Road, near the intersection with Daley Road, Acton.

ACT Ambulance Service attended and attempts were made to resuscitate the man. He was transported to The Canberra Hospital, where he later died.

ACT Policing’s requests that any witnesses to the incident who have not yet spoken with police should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.

I’m kind of curious – what if a heart attack caused the accident but the occupant also suffered survivable head injuries from the accident?

Whereas the person who apparently committed suicide by driving his car head on into a concrete wall at NPH last year is not considered a road toll statistic.
