ACT Women's Cricket hits the big leagues

i would just like to say how awesome this opportunity is for the girls not only in the ACT but surrounding areas. you will be surprised by how talented the team will be and maybe some of the people saying the standard of cricket is rubbish….well maybe come and have a look first before bagging the girls out!
also i would be very keen to as how high a standard of cricket you doubters have played???anyone played state cricket for the ACT before???i doubt it.so dont knock it!
i challenge you all to come down and support your team and then make your mind up!i will be there!

#11 – and that is the problem with many women’s sports. Cricket without the 4’s and 6’s, basketball without the dunks, etc. Plenty of skill but lacking the spectacle.

Just caught a glimpse of the Women’s 20/20 WC on Fox. One of the commentators made the remark that the trouble with the Indian batswomen was that they weren’t strong enough to get the ball over the infield. I can’t see the throngs rushing to watch that sort of caper.

And yes, I think men’s netball is stupid as well

Yes, they’d love the 20/20 action.

They’d just want a better standard of play to get them down there.

Some of the Caps players are some of the best in the world, we’re talking ladies here who are good in the ACT. Tasmania couldn’t even be assed putting a team in the comp.

There are lots of women out there who enjoy watching good sport, but also want to be able to relate to the person playing. Seeing more women playing high-level sport can inspire more of us to get active. I like cricket because it’s a combination of strategy and physical skill, and a mix of teamwork in the fielding and solitary achievement in batting (well OK, there’s some teamwork in batting too…).
