Award winning blues divas Marisa Quigley and Ali Penney are set to take the stage as Ali accompanies Marisa for another fabulous Keller Sessions night. The pair have played together numerous times, including Bruthen Blues, Broadbeach and both of Quigley’s solo album launches in Melbourne.
Marisa has been described as “possibly the blackest white woman since Janis Joplin” (Chris Lambie – Forte Magazine) and “Bonnie Raitt on steroids” (Kate Meehan – another well known blues diva).
Ali Penney is one of the country’s finest female blues performers and represented Sydney at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. She will no doubt do a couple of her own numbers on the night for a taste.
With half a dozen Chain Awards between them, the firm friends are accomplished performers and boy, they do like to have fun together. Marisa will also be accompanied by her brand new husband – Darren Christie – on bass.
