Man faces serious assault charges over Kaleen home invasion

A 19-year-old Franklin man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Thursday, 12 October) over a home invasion in Kaleen last May.

ACT Policing said that about 7:30 pm on Monday 8 May, two males armed with various weapons including a knife, baseball bat and a metal pole forcibly entered the Kaleen residence and assaulted the occupants before fleeing the scene on foot.

The two victims required medical attention and were taken to The Canberra Hospital by ambulance.

Police arrested the Franklin man yesterday morning in the City and charged him with aggravated burglary, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Investigations are ongoing into the incident.
