Local places to display art

In addition to the advice already provided (haha P1) if you do some leg work you will find there are many restaurants and cafes willing to exhibit artwork, assuming it’s palatable and appropriate for a dining audience. Don’t limit yourself to Canberra either, rural cafes & restaurants are often more likely to display art some places who cling to the tedious minimalist interior design which is so popular at the moment.

If a gallery is more your thing, there are a number of small galleries/exhibition spaces around Canberra who might entertain your exhibition. Eg, the Front Cafe and Gallery in Lyneham Shops is a good one for upcoming Canberra artists. Gorman House and the M16 Artspace both offer exhibition space also. Whether a fee is involved, I’m not sure.

If you’re creative enough you’ll find someone willing to exhibit your wares. Good luck!

Johnny Nohope has probably got a place allocated on the GDE V2.0 somewhere but you would have to charge the ACT Govt $30,000 for it. Sorry I am being sarcastic and of no help at all.
