Man in critical condition after Duffy crash

Rescue crews have had to free a man trapped in the wreckage of his vehicle after it hit a tree in Duffy early this morning.

The Emergency Services Agency said that about 2:30 am, ACT Fire & Rescue and ACT Ambulance Service (ACTAS) attended the single-vehicle crash on Burrinjuck Crescent.

It said the single occupant of the car was severely trapped and crews worked to extricate him, before taking him to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.

Police said paramedics treated the 18-year-old man while he was being removed from the vehicle by ACT Fire & Rescue firefighters.

ACT Policing’s Crash Investigation and Reconstruction Team is investigating the incident.
