Budget responses

I’m sure that is partly the case but look at the local results in the federal election. Labor rules this town without having to even try.

Hmmm. Last time I looked, we had one Labor and one Liberal Senator … and minority Government in our Assembly.

My point is that the vast majority of the tasks our government should be performing have nothing to do with ideology and the difference between Labor and Liberal on a local level is effectively (or at least should be) insignificant.

Our current government continues to fail abysmally at what should be its core function and yet still people continue to elect them because of some loyalty to the party.

I personally do not want to see a Liberal Government why the hell would I vote for one???

I am talking about the need for an effective opposition, for an opposition to be effective does not mean that I should have to put aside my personal beliefs and principles and vote for something I don’t support – it means that they should do their job.

Unfortunately, that’s true. And in the ACT, those who have been voting for change are still at the mercy of those who refuse to, not because they are in agreement with the current government, but because of blind party allegiance.
