A man has been charged with filming a teenage girl without her consent after reports that hidden cameras and devices had been found in a home near Canberra.
NSW Police began their investigation in May last year and allege that between 2014 and 2020 a man concealed multiple hidden camera devices and cameras in rooms used by the girl, who was then aged between 11 and 17.
With the assistance of Victoria Police, the 67-year-old was arrested in Victoria on Tuesday (17 March).
NSW Police travelled to Victoria on Wednesday and sought the man’s extradition to NSW. He was escorted to Queanbeyan Police Station and charged with five counts of aggravated filming of a person in a private act without consent.
The man appeared in Cooma Local Court on Thursday where Magistrate Bruce Williams granted bail on conditions that included the man report to police every day, live in Victoria and post a security deposit of $10,000.
His matter will be heard again in Queanbeyan Local Court later this month.
