December is well and truly in full swing.
Christmas favourites will be on the menu at all four Eastlake Football Clubs, complete with brandy custard.
It isn’t too late to get a gift either. Yass will come alive on Thursday (16 December) as Santa rolls in and kicks off their late-night shopping festival. Hall and Haig Park in Braddon will be hosting markets, with stalls stacked high with fresh produce and handcrafted wares. Canberra Potters aren’t missing out on the action with a Christmas Fair at the Watson Arts Centre from Saturday.
There’ll even be a dedicated event for your furry and loyal companion, with a ‘Pooch Picnic in the Park’.
Last but not least, there’ll be laugh-out-loud comedy from those who do it best when the British sitcom Faulty Towers takes to the stage with a live performance at the Mercure in Braddon this weekend.

This not-for-profit event was conceived and created to support small businesses, artisans and entertainers impacted by the recent lockdown.
The fair will feature over 60 artisan vendors, food stalls (including the Men’s Shed outdoor woodfired pizza oven), live entertainment, a special visit from Santa at noon, fresh-cut Christmas trees for sale on site, a wood chop competition and demonstration, and Hall Collectors Club classic cars.

UPDATED 9 am, 10 December: The WNBL has announced that the scheduled game between the UC Capitals and the Sydney Flames on Sunday, 12 December, has been cancelled due to a positive COVID-19 case.
A member of the UC Caps club (who has since tested positive) attended a full team training session on Tuesday morning. Under ACT Government Health rules, all players and coaches in attendance are deemed close contacts and have been tested and are currently undergoing a seven-day isolation period.
The WNBL will work with both teams to reschedule the game to a later date in the season.
