ACT records 448 COVID cases

The ACT has recorded 448 cases of COVID-19 to 8 pm last night.

Yesterday there were 462 new cases.

The ACT’s active caseload is now 1479. Of these, nine are in hospital. There are no cases in ICU or requiring ventilation.

Of the Territory’s 12-plus population, 98.5 per cent are fully vaccinated.

A total of 3141 negative test results were recorded in the 24 hours to 9 am this morning.

The Nicholls (Gold Creek) testing clinic is closed today (1 January) but will reopen tomorrow between 8 am and 4 pm.

The Mitchell site at 2 Tooth St (access from Dacre St) closes at 10 pm tonight.

The Surge Centre in Garran closes at 9 pm. The Kambah site closed at noon.

NSW has recorded 22,577 COVID-19 cases and four deaths in the 24 hours to 8 pm last night.

There are 901 people in hospital with COVID and 79 in ICU.

Of the state’s 16-plus population, 93.6 per cent are double-dosed.

Victoria has recorded 2731 cases and nine deaths.

In Victoria, 93 per cent of the state’s 12-plus population is fully vaccinated.

There are 451 people in hospital, 98 people in ICU (including 51 active cases), and 21 are on ventilation.

Across the country, more than 100,000 new cases have been recorded in the past week. Australia’s hospitalisation rate is around 0.9 per cent.

The Health experts need to publish COVID infection, hospitalisation and ICU data disaggregated between fully vaccinated and unvaccinated etc so the public can see how the impact of vaccinations is trending, both for the ACT and each of the States. Cannot understand why they are not doing it.
