DIfference between Canberra milk and Costco milk?

Fast forward to 2016, I see Capitol Chilled Foods produces a brand called “Fresh Milk” with a label listing the exact same specifications as Canberra Milk but selling in the Belconnen Markets for $2.99 per 3 litres compared with Canberra Milk selling for about $5.46. Fresh Milk tastes a little different and produces more bubbles when you pour it in a glass. Strange how the specs are the same.

All cheap milks are the same. Packed with permeate. There will be variability for them season to season. If you want a nicer milk like A2, you’ve gotta pay for it.

Canberra Gold has extra cream added. There’s a few milks like that (fewer than there used to be, sadly) where they add a bit of the good stuff rather than taking it away. When Coles started up their ultra-cheap Coles milk thing, I stopped buying it, figuring they were probably rorting someone over it. costco sell their milk in containers too big for me, so I haven’t tried it.

Canberra Gold isn’t homogenized so it has a higher fat content. They only add extra cream to the Canberra Gold product sometimes in the spring when the fat content is low.

Also Organic milk means that the cows that the milk comes from only eat pesticide free grass.

Are you crazy? If you shake it, you won’t get that little bit of cream on your breakfast! Used to love taking the little foil cap of the gold top Glass Canberra milk bottles. 🙂

I found that as well. I have been drinking canberra milk for years because I believe you get what you pay for. I’ll be very disappointed if canberra milk overcharge customers for marketing over quality. It cost $4.9 for a 3 litter bottle at woolworth and I know its whole sales price is about $3.2 (could be wrong, I can’t really remember it).
