A unique, niche Canberra-based market that strives to sell only sustainable fashion is returning to Canberra this July.
The Three Sixty Fashion Market is Canberra’s one-stop-shop for quality vintage, retro and pre-loved fashion items made with ethical choices in materials, design, and creation methods.
Three Sixty Fashion Market organiser Stephen Wall said he and his wife Catherine always had an interest in sustainable fashion, which is why they started the market over 10 years ago.
“The idea of recycling, reusing and re-purposing clothing and accessories so they don’t end up in landfill was something we had an interest in for a long time,” Stephen said.
“The market allows people to come and sell their pre-loved or brand new items, and people can come and purchase or rent them, rather than going out and buying all new products.
“Many of the items often still have tags on them too.”
The Market offers plenty of sustainably made clothes of all styles and sizes, as well as shoes, handbags, jewellery, accessories and more.
Stephen said they’re aiming for four markets a year.
There are currently 30 stall holders expected to attend the market this weekend.
“It feels really good to be holding it [the market] again,” Stephen said.
“It’s been over two-and-a-half years since our last event, so we’ve really missed it.
“We miss seeing our regular, smiley stall holders and attendees, and we always enjoyed meeting new people who came along too, so it’s very exciting.”
Stephen said their stallholders were pretty dedicated to not wanting to throw away perfectly good clothing and quite often sell items still new with tags on, or lightly used items.
“It’s a double pleasure for us to hold this market,” he said.
“There’s a lot of joy in seeing the pleasure that people get from coming to the market and supporting the stallholders.”
As well as the Three Sixty Fashion Market, Stephen and Catherine also run the Canberra Fashion Market, Canberra Kids Market and the Canberra Christmas Market.
The next market will be held this Sunday, 10 July, from 10 am to 3 pm at the Fitters’ Workshop at Kingston Foreshore. If you’re interested in having your own stall to sell your pre-loved goods or recycled fashion items, visit Canberra Markets.
