OTT, but does that only apply to chillis or to other stuff too? I germinated tomato seeds in punnets and they were going fine until, well until they started looking very sick really. My self-seeded ones in the garden are still going great guns though, so I suppose that indicates it’s little to do with temperature?

So you’re saying that if I accidentally mixed up my chilli and capsicum seeds, the ones that have actually sprouted are probably capsicum?

Hi, Funny you should ask on the chilli seedling as of next Nov (2012) We will have seedlings.
Mostly the hotter species eg, trinidad scorpion & 7 pot. Our new green house is near complete.
We have sadly missed this years season but will be in full production as soon possible.
If there’s any particular species your after just let us know and we’ll do our best to provide as seedlings.

There’s chilli plants everywhere. I got a punnet of jalapenos from Bunnings back in August! Potted them on into big tubes and they went into the garden on the weekend (usually Melbourne Cup day on is safe from frosts). Best range of fancy advanced chillis (and tomatoes) I’ve seen is at that nursery in Qbn opposite the caravan park, they have a back room/glasshouse with a really good range of varieties.

Your not looking too hard. Magnet mart have had some for about a month. Rodneys at Pialligo had some when I was there about 2 weeks ago and The Garden at Parkwood had heaps at the weekend. In all cases multiple varieties.

We’ve grown chillis in our home garden and found they grew so well we had more than we knew what to do with. Still have heaps in the freezer. I think we got them from bunnings.

Have you tried Magnet Mart? That’s where I got mine last year. They had a couple of kinds. I managed to get some ball chilis that grew in all sorts of beautiful colours (purple, orange, green, red, yellow), as well as some Habaneros. They were hot.
