Where to get BBQ chooks for Melbourne Cup Day?

You could always send 15 people home with instructions to bring back 1 chicken the next day.

No need for a military grade chicken procurement operation then!

I always get BBQ chickens at Kingsleys Woden.
You can order over the phone, they will cut them also which I would suggest for that amount of chooks. I would recommend getting each chook cut into 8 pieces. They do this for free, as well as pack all into a lined box for transport.

by the way their BBQ chickens are delicious!!
And leftovers will happily keep in the fridge a few days. I have also shredded and frozen Kingsleys leftovers for stir frys later.
Dont go KFC coated stuff it doesnt keep, most people prefer the plain BBQ style.

I am pretty sure Costco offers BBQ chicken platters – made to order.

We have used Kingleys a few times. Ring and pre order then pay and pick up on the day.
My advice is to ring and double check the day before to ensure everything goes to plan.

Busiest Day of the year for KFC. And I am assuming any chicken shop.

My first thought was Kingsleys. Haven’t tried them on Cup day … being a chicken shop (and this not being the first year there’s been a Melbourne Cup run), one would hope they wouldn’t run out of chickens. (Having said that, I once walked out of KFC Hawker chickenless due to them having run out :-\
