Another Civil Unions Rally this Saturday

Religion and same sex unions? Lets face it, it’s not official but apparently Marist have been sanctioning same sex unions for years (sorry for the segway to all posts about the Marist Sex Abuse Scandal but it fits the topic).

Personally I have nothing against homosexual’s, lesbians, transexuals etc.. but I do get annoyed when their activists say being gay isn’t about ‘sex’ but rather the right to love and marry another person regardless of whether they are the same sex. Then they ruin their argument by parading naked or near enough to it through Sydney. IMO that’s why many people don’t like Mardi Gras and turn on gays. If 100 heterosexuals walked down Pitt St carrying banners with their arses and/or tits hanging out they’d be arrested for public indecency. And yes, for the record, I’d be the one with the video camera running alongside getting good shots of the hot looking women.

One rule for all I say, and that includes letting those that bat for the same team marry. Just don’t ram it down our necks. If the gay community wants to hold a rally, let em go for it. I just hope they keep their clothes on and make it about the issues. As for the church, I believe that if there is a God, and my experiences are slowly leading me to believe there is not, he’d have to love both gays and straights alike…. wouldn’t he?

No thats racism which is not what i said
traditionalist as in guy + girl=marriage and the sanctity of that relationship and union – which is infact enshrined in religion, and our laws are derived from there
not guy + guy or girl + girl etc etc

I hope Stanhope keeps up his willingness to criticize the Feds. Rudd might be a refreshing breeze from Howard, but he definatley isn’t the man I’d really want for prime minister. The fact that everyone is up in arms about what everyone else is doing in bed and at the altar is just plain ridiculous. Wake up, people, marriage isn’t a religeous thing and it doesn’t ‘belong’ to any one culture so no-one should be pretending to be offended. Everyone needs to just grow up, get Civil Unions over with and get on to more important issues.
