36 hours – that’s how long Stanhope has responsibility for the Olympic flame. I’m praying. It would be an awful way for Cambra to get on the world stage if something went wrong and the Olympic torch was to be extinguished. A freak wind? A gusty northerly? A westerly typhoon? A BB style gigantic fan? Stanhope’ll have all areas covered I’m sure, even the unpredictable weather. After all, he runs rings around those lesser public servants doesn’t he? (no pun intended)

The olympics are bad news for Canberra – remember last time – international embarrasment as Kate Carnell painted the dead grass green in Bruce Stadium.

Is it printed on yellow paper? That could make it disappear, and would be an even better “technical glitch” than the yellow ring omission.

Don’t know how anyone could stuff this up? Surely, they’d have got the Olympic logo electronically to paste into their documents. Maybe they forgot to apply for a license to use the official logo and someone decided to draw their own version in crayon?
