When it comes to maintenance and connection of the respective supplies, ACTEW does the power and Jemena the gas. In other words at the physical end nothing has changed.

So from a power perspective ACTEW is 100% government owned, so that kinda throws your theory out the window.

Your statement is wrong. Jemena do not own the AGL brand… AGL is a listed company on the stock market. Jemena is a business owned by SP Ausnet.

Silence, I am asking the questions here. Cheaper, yes. Not necessarily the other two.

If ACTEW is prohibited from doing those earthworks, why can’t they engage someone else who has had the required training to carry out that part of the job until their own staff have completed the training.

Surely the expense would be less than the cost of the ongoing bad publicity.

Correct. AGL was seperate, ACTEW as it’s name implies was water and electricity only.

What a pack of whingers. Really. Yes it isn’t good because your hookup has been delayed, but the issue is being caused by a knee jerk reaction by the safety regulator, not through any wrong doing, incompetence or monopoly behaviour by ACTEW AGL.
