We tried the Deakin Croatia Yum Cha a couple of weeks ago. Food was OK, but the service was pretty poor. The staff were all talking and ignored us at first, when asked about the dishes that would be coming out, they didn’t seem to know anything, and overall tghe experience was not so good.

They seem fairly settled, Footlosse, so I guess those problems have been sorted.

There can’t be too many places in the world where you go to a Croation place for Yum Cha!

I went to the yum cha place at the Deakin Soccer Club a couple of weeks ago and found that it was pretty much the same as Noble Palace (where we have dined a lot) and the plus side of Deakin is that it is a fixed price. Might try Tims in Forrest next.

Does anyone know what the end result was with the Yum Cha place at the Deakin Soccer Club. .. the one (allegedly) housing student in their roof?

My favourite Yum Cha is at Tim’s Chinese in Forest (upstairs at the Italo Club) – I know it’s not Inner North, but it’s very good and definitely worth a try

The best Yum Cha north side is probably in Cabramatta or around George Street. Without going to Sydney or Hong Kong, the most authentic, fresh and best tasting Yum Cha in Canberra is definitely above the Italian Club.

Noble Palace, at least to my tastebuds has been boring/average the few times I’ve tried it.

Noble palace is AMAZING – best Yum Cha in Canberra.

I think the best yum cha is in Woden – Noble Palace

its a bit more expensive but the quality of food is excellent and the staff are pleasant..

Try Prince’s Palace at Belco

pros: good value for money and very tasty

cons: staff who will evict you if you stay past 2.00pm on a Sunday

I ate there about a month back.

was a good price good food.

I would recommend trying it out.

I have been there twice (I work in Dickson) and the food is actually pretty good.

The service leave a bit to be desired, but i imagine the staff are new and it is hard to get good help in this town.

The prices are pretty reasonable, so i recon its worth a try if you like yum cha.

try the canberra club on a friday lunchtime ginger nut

no.

hurry i want to know too.

how i have missed having (good) yum cha in the inner north.

I went to the four seasons/rivers (?) whatever ate half a dumpling and left. vomit.

I have been going all the way out to the dumpling inn in belco.
