ACT Health Village Creek Centre opens

Katy Gallagher has announced the opening of the ACT Health Village Creek Centre in Kambah.

Apparently this brings together the following services:

    — ACT Equipment Scheme- provides access to a range ofequipment for eligible Canberrans. The scheme assists people with long term illness or disabilities to live safely at home in the community
    — ACT Equipment Loan Service- operates an extensive fleet of loan equipment for short-term use by people in their own homes
    — ACT Domiciliary Oxygen and Respiratory Support Scheme- provides oxygen and associated respiratoryequipment to eligible residents of the ACT
    — Clinical Technology Services- design and manufacture custom devices to aid a person with severe physical disability
    — Prosthetics and Orthotic Service- assists in the manufacture, modification and repair of artificial limbs and support devices
    — Specialised Wheelchair and Posture Seating- customises and fits wheelchairs and specialisedseating systems
    — Driver Assessment and Rehabilitation Service- provides advice, assessment, rehabilitation and training for people wishing to drive after an injury or illness orwho have a disability
    — Vocational Assessment and Rehabilitation Service- helps people to learn the skills needed to gain employment or maintain employment if their physical capacitieschange
    — Transitional Therapy and Care Program- a community based program for older adults providing up to 12 weeks support and therapy at the end of a hospital stay
