ACT records 1120 new COVID-19 cases and one death

The ACT has reported the death of a woman in her 70s and 1,120 new COVID-19 infections in the 24 hours to 8 pm yesterday, including 566 identified by PCR and 554 by rapid-antigen tests (RAT).

There are now 138 people in hospital, including five in intensive care and three being ventilated.

Since the pandemic began, 168,874 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the ACT.

The double-dose vaccination rate for the ACT’s five-plus population remains 97.4 per cent, and 77.4 per cent of residents aged 16 and older have now received a booster.

Of ACT residents aged five to 11, 69.1 per cent have received two doses of vaccine.

Interstate, NSW has reported 33 deaths overnight and 11,434 new cases of COVID-19.

Victoria has reported 20 deaths overnight and 8,776 new cases of COVID-19.
