Action – Credit where credit is due

By satyr - 5 May 2011 5

I think I’ve had as many bad experiences with Action as the next regular bus user, but Action really impressed me this morning.

A couple of Action guys in a van rolled around to my stop looking for a lost wallet. On the bus someone from the depot also called the driver. It may not sound like a big thing, but it sure as hell beats the service I’ve received from other operators, ‘Uhh.. yeah.. we’ve found your CD wallet, but their uh, don’t seem to be any CDs in here (now that I’ve nicked them).’

What’s Your opinion?

Thanks for your post, it’s a nice change from all the hate we get here.

TBH, before I drove in Canberra, I just thought Canberrans were PT haters, with the way they carry on about ACTION.

After driving here for 3 years, the hate is largely deserved. My main gripes revolve around the Tuggers interchange, and the speed with which drivers leave it. I have had to slam my brakes on many, many times a year in order to stop having a head on with a bus that has left the site far to quickly and has travelled over to the other side of the road.

That being said, I have noticed quite a few good ACTION drivers. It’s just that the bad far outweighs the good. But at least you’re not DEANES!

My word yes, there are some quality humans amongst the bus driving fraternity.

I had apparently dropped a wallet in the roadway near the city west terminus, and didn’t know about it ’til a driver gave me a call saying that he had seen it, stopped the bus to pick it up, and was keen to meet me to deliver it.

Fantastic work. Just great. Thanks.
