An Australian Federal Police (AFP) appointee will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Tuesday, 8 May 2018) charged with grooming a child for sex.

The 49-year-old man was arrested yesterday and formally charged following an investigation by ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigation Team.

Acting Chief Police Officer for the ACT Mark Walters said ACT Policing and the AFP took any allegations of misconduct seriously, especially those who targeted the most vulnerable members of our society.

“As the matter is now before the court, it would be inappropriate to comment further,” he said.
