The AFP is assessing whether to suspend an officer charged with committing an act of indecency without consent.
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) is assessing whether to suspend an officer who was charged with committing an act of indecency without consent yesterday (3 November).
Following an investigation by ACT Policing’s Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team, the 50-year-old AFP officer from Canberra will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today (4 November).
An AFP spokesperson would only say that the organisation is assessing whether to suspend the officer.
“All AFP members are expected to behave at all times in a manner that upholds the organisation’s core values, reputation and integrity – consistent with community expectations.
“As this matter is before the court it would not be appropriate to make any further comment,” the spokesperson said.
