Alice in Wonderland opened today at Theatre 3 in Acton (near the Art School).

The show is open to all ages, and the cast ranges from young to old as well. For an amateur show with loads of kids in it, this one is very good.

The two adult cast members are excellent (Queen of Hearts and Mad Hatter), some of the kids are fabulous performers, and all of them are very cute. The costumes are great too.

It goes for an hour, which is probably a tad too long, but even toddlers seemed to sit quietly through the whole thing, so it never drags too badly. And it is nice to see a kiddy show in a proper theatre, with tiered seating, instead of having to sit on the floor.

This week seems to be the week for kiddy plays, with Aladdin at the Courtyard Theatre and Ala Baba at Belconnen Theatre both also on. Now we just need some activities to do next week, before the regular stuff like library story time and swimming lessons begins again.

Alice in Wonderland: 11.00am and 2.00pm on Thursday 21 (today), Friday 22 and Saturday 23 January.

Venue is Theatre 3, 3 Repertory Lane, Acton and bookings are through Rep on 6257 1950 or on the website to http://www.canberrarep.org.au/.

All tickets only $15 (booking fees may apply).
