Give him the boot, there are plenty of aspiring young football players out there who would love the chance he’s had, and could well be as good on the field as Carney with the right coaching. Being better off the field would need little effort!

The problem seems to be consequences. Nobody wants to be accountable for anything these days.

He should be called to account for his actions, if the Raiders come off second best on the field because of it so be it.

He did the wrong thing and should be made to face it like a man.

If Ben Casey has “seen it for years” why does he allow Carney to enter the premises in the first place. Surely not letting him in solves the problem befotre it occurs. Seems like ABN likes to be known as a footballers hangout.

And Overheard – yep almost all grog issues would be solved with proper enforcement of RSA by licenced premises.

The pertinent question in the comments under that CT story is why, if Carney’s been doing it for years, is he still served? Why isn’t he bounced out every time on the grounds of RSA compliance?
