ooh we hope it does not eat our kart on the way past……

I think you’ll be safe – it appears to be missing it’s teeth!

Maybe it’s some sort of gum tree?

Bazinga!

mrs_ratt informs me that this artwork has come and gone several times in recent weeks, and has indeed gone again by this morning.

It looks a bit like the plant from the Dentist film/stageshow.

That would be Little Shop of Horrors – Feed me, Seymour!

I agree this is awesome.

Some questions (as it’s not apparent from the pic):

Was the drain/stormwater riser there already or is that part of the artwork?

Also what is the structure made of and if it’s a real stormwater riser, how is it attached in such a structurally sound way?

I think I’m going to have to do a drive by to see this myself.

Sheesh can’t anyone recognise a triffid when they see one??

Sorry Al:

Clearly a Piranha Plant, and not a Triffid.

However, perhaps a challenge should be laid?
Triffid in canberra, anyone feeling creative?

That green drain opening is going to get more Mario-ed in the future…

Watch this space.

I’ll bet there’s a secret room full of coins underneath. 😀

Well that’s different.

It looks a bit like the plant from the Dentist film/stageshow.

Has anyone seen the two “headstones” saying Speed and Alcohol erected on Adelaide Ave northbound opposite the Mint?

I drive past it everyday too – big fan. Isn’t it from Mario?

Is the Mario one still around, or did this replace it ?

I have been hoping someone would stop and take a photo of this. I have driven past it the last two mornings, and it has made my day.

Whoever took the time to make and set it up it needs to be congratulated.
