So has MR Abbot actually done some specific thing that will get him in the poo and we’ll find out about it tomorrow? I only ask because the things you mention, unpleasant though they are, have been out in the public domain for a long time.

Perhaps because he resembles a large part of Australia.

If it ends up being close maybe Albo will do a Bradbury/ Abbott (but with wide support rather than having to rely on his own vote).

There is someone who knows and worked for her who doesn’t have many good things to say about her, yes. She even worked for him at one point.

“Letters to the editor are these days the domain of crazies and political staff”. That’s one possibility – but more likely you’d need to amend that to “halfway-literate crazies and political staff” to account for the puzzling lack of support in those pages for certain other political figures.

Rob Oakeshott’s fantastic, the way he has the gallery eating out of the palm of his hand at his windy press conferences, waiting for him to get to the (generally well-considered) point…

I am of the opinion that he is satirist who woke up one day to find himself in federal parliament, and decided to make the most of the opportunity while it lasts. It’ll be a terrible shame if he and Tony Windsor don’t survive the next federal election.

Interesting observations from the SMH Letters Co-Editor – “Kevin Rudd’s supporters may claim he is popular with voters but that has not registered strongly in letters” and, if its letters inbox is any guide, “the front-runners would be Julia Gillard and Liberal MP Malcolm Turnbull.”

So, on the Labor side we have a choice between an arrogant self-obsessed backstabber, and an arrogant self-obsessed backstabber.

I heard on ABC that MPs across the country who back Rudd were reporting “even split” while the undecideds across the country (who had no incentive to misreport) were reporting 85 per cent pro Rudd. Methinks Mr Leigh is fibbing and his calls were running 85 per cent pro Rudd as well.

The dildo was obviously intended for Abbott – the pleasure apparently promised him by the polls has been frustratingly unfulfilled (remember he confidently expected to be getting his jollies well before last Xmas) and to date the only relief he has had in a contest that counts was when he had to rely on his own hand after he and others had shafted Turnbull.
