Anyone driving to Melbourne soon?

Hi fellow Rioters

I’m currently in Fitzroy, Melbourne, but my cricket bag is still in Canberra, and I’m not going to be able to get back to Canberra for a couple of months to get it.

I was wondering if there were any Rioters who would be able to find space for it in the back of their car if they were driving this way in the next week or two. I’ve looked at getting it couriered but they all require you to be home from 9-5 and can’t even guarantee a delivery date.

It could be collected from Red Hill, and I’d be happy to come and get it anywhere in Melbourne if it wasn’t convenient to drop it off.

Oh, and I’m happy for anyone who volunteers to bring it who wants to have a look inside the bag to satisfy themselves I’m not running drugs across the border (I think I remembered to wash the socks from a couple of seasons ago).

Thanks

Rambling Ted

Thanks to those of you who offered. it looks like I’ll need to come back to town in late Oct in any case, so I can live without it till then.

PS- XO_VSOP: in the big city most of the couriers I’ve contacted will charge you a $30 failed delivery fee if you aren’t home when they call..

19th of october. staying in southbank

I’m flying down for AFL grand final weekend, you could meet me at the airport. if that helps

Like Greyhound Freight, also consider Pack & Send – particularly if you have someone in Canberra who can drop the bag off at their office (EG Braddon or Fyshwick) to save local courier fees.

Same deal for delivery – you can collect it (from the office at, say, Carlton or Abbotsford) which you might find more convenient and cheaper..

Last time I used them it was like 2 days to get something sent from interstate. http://www.packsend.com.au/

Conversely, when you’re driving back from Melbourne to Canberra if you have room for a dining chair and modest sized mirror please let me know, haha.

I can’t help you but Greyhound can http://www.greyhoundfreight.com.au/

Cheap. All couriers leave a card of which you can take to the depot in your own time to collect your cricket bag, did you know this?
