Hi Rioters.
Does anyone know if there are any services in Canberra to transfer 8mm Film (Super 8) to DVD?
I have some old family movies that I would like to digitize.
Thank you.
Hi Rioters.

Most services simply do a cinescope transfer – ie: projecting it onto a screen and filming it onto a video file. Either that or they project it into a lightbox and refilm it from there. If you want a high quality restoration – each frame restored via Photoshop then transferred to a video file forming a movie – it will cost you heaps.
DVD Infinity does it and I was quoted over $300.00 for 8 Standard 8mm movies.
I've been told they literally project it and refilm it. 😉
Place the projector as close as possible so you get a small clear projection, set up a video camera or DSLR camera with video function and film it 😉
we use https://damsmart.com.au/ at work
