Ask RiotACT: Apartment complex on Baldwin Drive standing empty

Patrick Keogh 21 July 2019 6

Ask RiotACT

There is a new apartment complex at 110 Baldwin Drive in Kaleen, close to the High School on the site of the old Bocce courts. The complex of fifty or more units was completed months ago including landscaping, allocation of bins, under building parking areas etc. etc. etc. but as of today it is standing entirely vacant.

What’s the story?

And those who invested their money in purchasing apartments are seeing the value of their properties plummeting.

Be good to publicise survey of number of vacant properties in Canberra. Bet there is a ridiculous number of flats (appartments) that are vacant. Government doesn’t care as they are getting the money from selling the land.
