Ask RiotACT: Indian tailor wanted

Hi Rioters,

Does anyone know a tailor with expertise in Indian garments in Canberra or nearby surrounds? I need to get new saree tops and to have some salwar kemeez altered. I did find one, but was not happy with the results. It needs to be an Indian tailor, as these clothes are made quite differently to western clothes. Really look forward to hearing from someone out there.

Perhaps you could contact the Canberra School of Bollywood Dancing? They sell and hire outfits (perhaps a bit jazzier than you’re after), so might have a contact for you. Good luck!

There must be someone out the in the Indian community who knows a decent tailor and who doesn’t wait to go back to India for all their clothing needs.
