A 33-year-old Richardson man will face ACT Magistrates Court today (Saturday, 6 February 2021) charged with attempted murder after being arrested in Tasmania.

The man was arrested in Bridgewater by Tasmania Police on Thursday, 4 February. He appeared before Hobart Magistrates Court the same day and an interstate extradition to the ACT was granted.

The man was wanted by ACT Policing in relation to a stabbing incident that occurred in Gowrie on Thursday, 1 October 2020 where the 23-year-old victim fled to a nearby service station for help.

Officer in Charge of Criminal Investigations, Detective Inspector Marcus Boorman warned that this investigation was far from complete.

“We do believe other people were involved in this incident and we urge them to come forward before we come knocking,” Detective Inspector Boorman said.
