Swimmer dies at Pine Island Reserve

Police are preparing a report for the coroner following a tragic death at Pine Island Reserve in Greenway yesterday (29 December 2024).

About 6 pm, police and emergency services responded to reports a man had failed to resurface while swimming in the Murrumbidgee River.

A search for the man commenced and, sadly, the 21-year-old’s body was found in the water by AFP divers about 7:50 pm.
