For me, one of life’s true treats is going out for a leisurely breakfast/brunch. My meal of choice is often Eggs Benedict. Runny eggs, slightly creamy (but not too gloopy) hollandaise, smoky ham (or bacon) and cracked pepper. Mmmmmm.
One of the things I missed most about Canberra when I lived overseas was the culture of meeting friends for brunch on a weekend. Living in London, my first ‘Let’s go out for breakfast’ was met with a ‘greasy spoon’ serving up bacon and eggs with a side of chips and black pudding and a mug of Nescafe. I longed for our café culture and a good serve of Eggs Benedict washed down with a couple of flat whites.
So, for this week’s Best of Canberra, let’s hear it for Eggs Benedict – where is the best place to go?
