Well.. if you like folk and folkish acoustic pop music, lollies, b’lloonses, cake and a big fat bloke in a red suit being very silly, Polish beer, middle-aged Polish bar-wenches and spending the evening with desperately unfashionable (but very friendly) folk-music tragics then it might be the Best Xmas Party This Year.
Of course I refer to the Merry Muse Folk Club Christmas Party tomorrow (Friday) night (hosted by the Polish Club in Turner) featuring musical (and other) entertainment from ex-Canberrans, Trouble in the Kitchen, and current Canberrans, Caution Horses (and the afore-mentioned fat guy in a red suit), in an all night, all singing, all dancing, beer-soaked, flesh-tingling frenzy.
Last time I was there, there was definitely something funny in the air (or the beer or the honey vodka) as I and several friends, male and female, ended up having our tonsils teased by the tongue of an almost complete stranger (now that’s friendly) interspersed with saucy mixed-gender visits to the men’s toilets, so I’m obviously looking forward to it immensely.
