Chief Minister Katy Gallagher has announced the ACT joining up to the National Blood Authority’s BloodNet.

“Canberra Hospital, Calvary Hospital, Capital Pathology and Healthscope Pathology will all be using the newly introduced BloodNet system as of this week,” the Chief Minister said.

“BloodNet provides ACT Hospitals with a standardised electronic platform that enhances the visibility and transparency of online blood ordering and receipting systems.

“The system will provide laboratory staff with additional reporting capabilities and significant efficiencies in regards to tracking and tracing blood product orders placed with the Australian Red Cross Blood Service,” the Chief Minister said.

The BloodNet system is provided free of charge to all users across Australia, and is the nationally consistent electronic platform for blood product ordering and receipting processes.

I have been using the van for 3 years and have had no problems making appointments.

Their website lists when the van will next be in Belco
http://www.donateblood.com.au/become-a-donor/donor-centres/search?terms=belconnen,&choice=4112

Bugmenot – ring up and ask when the mobile bus is in Belconnen next. I book an appointment at a lunch time during the week the bus is in my work area. Waddle over, do the paperwork, bleed into the bag and back again at my workplace within 60-80 mins. No time off work required.

Did you not know the mobile bus exists?

will this mean that we will eventually be able to donate somewhere other than Garran? I live in Belco, and work in Belco, and while I would love to donate more, I’m not taking hours off work to bus down south just for a little 15 minute donation.
I have work to do and the bloody donation place is never open outside of business hours. (The Wednesday thing is laughable, there’s no way I’d get down there before they close if I stay at work until 5)
I’ve started calling them up every once in a while asking for where I can donate in a van, but it’s not exactly easy to get in for appointments there.
