Arson attempt

ACT Policing has released CCTV footage of two men dousing a building in Newcastle Street, Fyshwick with petrol and attempting to ignite it in an incident detectives believe to be Outlaw Motorcycle Gang-related.

Detectives are investigating the attempted arson of a business on the site last Thursday.

About 1am, the two male offenders, driving a light coloured Toyota Echo, were captured by CCTV in their unsuccessful arson attempt, with one offender almost setting himself alight.

One of the two was dressed in grey pants and a light grey long-sleeved hooded jumper with a black vest. The second was wearing dark coloured jeans and a dark coloured hooded jumper.

Police are calling on the public’s assistance in identifying the offenders.

If you saw any suspicious activity near Newcastle Street in Fyshwick on this night or have seen this vehicle, police urge you to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or you can report via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

“Attempting to ignite” the petrol? How hard could that be?

And did anyone notice their mighty getaway car rolling away while the criminal mastermind performed his dastardly deed?

Gang related?
Maybe the Beagle Boys. No self-respecting gang would claim these clowns

People don’t generally join gangs because they’re capable and intelligent individuals.

Was that building the tattoo parlour? The tattoo parlour in Tuggeranong which was firebombed a few months ago has now closed despite the owners saying at the time they would reopen “in a few weeks”.

I guess they got the message. Maybe they were a couple of shotgun shells short of a field?

I remember when the bikies didnt drive Toyota Echo’s. Must be his mums car.

Maybe it’s his sister’s. Are those the cars with the eyelashes over the headlights?

I guess someone must have taken out the brains of the operation, leaving these two a bit helpless when required to think things through a bit…
