Brumbies keep the final surge going - 37-15 over the Blues

Wow, what a difference the half time break can make.

Keo has a good report of the carnage wreaked by the Brumbies on the Auckland Blues, winning 37-15 and picking up a crucial four try bonus point.

Amazingly a home final is now a possibility. But before we get ahead of ourselves victory against the Waikato Chiefs in Cow Town Hamilton is essential, as will be four more tries for the bonus point.

Hang onto your hats.

I don’t mind that snippet of music either…but it just kills the feel of the crowd. Which is odd…considering I’m sure it’s designed to try to inspire that feel.

The ground announcer has added the “be on your feet” before the Brumbies run out to the inane cheering competition between the Gregan/Larkham Stand and the Meninga Stand. I refuse to participate in both. I’ll cheer when I want to and I’ll be on my feet when I see the team running out, not when some d*ckhead tells me.

On Saturday night we had got the three clap “Brumbies” chant going in the Gregan/Larkham Stand and the rest of the stadium was joining in when d*ckhead interrupted the mojo by telling us to “get behind the boys” – we already were!

Regarding the music, the only riff that’s acceptable to me is the one from Blur’s ‘Song 2’ with the “WooHoo” when the Brumbies have scored a try.

> I wish someone would tell that annoying ground announcer that Brumbies supporters don’t need to be told when to cheer. We know when to get behind the team.

Yes please! A hate it…& also when they insist on playing music when points are scored…the crowd is cheering, let them be heard!!!

I wish someone would tell that annoying ground announcer that Brumbies supporters don’t need to be told when to cheer. We know when to get behind the team.

Great crowd, lets keep it going for the finals.
I thought it strange that there was no mention of the upcoming test match over the PA. 16177 is a good captive market. Australia Vs Italy June 12 Canberra Stadium. We have waited so long for to watch Stirling, George and the rest of our boys play in the green and gold in Canberra. If we want this, and i do, as a regular fixture in the Canberra rugby season we need to fill the stadium and show O’neil that Canberrans are just as passionate about Australian Rugby as our Queensland and NSW neighbours. Not to mention Melbourne.

It was a great game, though keeping it to only 4 points down in the first half was the real miracle. The blues had countless breaks that only desperate final tackles kept them from racing across our lines.
Also a decent showing from the Canberran crowd with 16’000 attending & being vocal throughout…
