Keo has an early report of the brutal demolition of the Perth franchise this evening at the Stadium in Bruce:

The Brumbies forwards dominated the visitors and the back three of Jesse Mogg, Henry Speight and Joseph Tomane would have had greater trouble ordering a drink at a pub than they did in breaking down the Force’s outclassed defence.

This was a case of one team simply being too good for another.

The Brumbies, having lost just once this season, edged ahead of the Reds in the Australian Conference and lead the overall standings.

Roll on the Crusaders next Sunday.

Umm – did anyone else find the Anzacfest before the game a bit odd? Call me unAustralian, but I thought that an onfield cenotaph and Last Post on 27 April was a bit like having Santa and sleigh onhand on 27 December to give lollies to the kids etc. (No disrespect to returned soldiers, my great uncle died at Gallipoli, etc) I couldn’t find it in my heart to condemn the chap up the back who yelled “Go you fkg Brumbieeeeees!!!!!” at the very nanosecond that the minute’s silence was over.

All the NZ and Australian home games featured a ceremony.

As I said to a friend in WA during the game,
“Free rugby lessons at Bruce Stadium. Hurry, hurry, hurry, this offer won’t last…”
