ACTION bus drivers will be sporting Hawaiian shirts today (Friday 5 December 2014) to raise awareness of ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group’s Hawaiian Shirt Day.

“Across Canberra, ACTION bus drivers will proudly wear a Hawaiian shirt today to support families who have a member undergoing treatment for cancer and we are encouraging commuters to do the same,” said Bren Burkevics, acting Chief Operating Officer, ACTION.

“ACTION is very proud once again to support the ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group. We hope that the splash of colour on Canberra’s buses will help raise awareness of the emotional and financial support they provide to families in the community.

“We are encouraging Canberrans to support our drivers by heading online to make a donation to the cause with 100% of all donations going directly to supporting the 800 cancer patients registered with the ACT Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group,” Mr Burkevics said.
