Despite being built in 2011, this replica of a 1920s classic at 10 Lenane Street in Queanbeyan is almost indistinguishable from its heritage-listed counterparts.

Nestled deep in a cul-de-sac, the California bungalow-style home will charm with well-manicured hedges and classic stained-glass windows.

“The windows are lead lined and have been sourced from around New South Wales, and the garden is mature and well landscaped.” Ray White sales agent Brad O’Mara says.

“They were keen on honouring the heritage of the surrounding area. They’ve done that really well.”

As you look to the home’s right, you’ll notice a two-car garage built in the same style, complete with a spacious and versatile loft on its second story.

Reclaimed features like the ornamental front door, repurposed gate, and lead-lined stained windows have made inter-war features a defining characteristic of the home’s design.

As you enter the combined kitchen and living area, you’ll notice the theme extends throughout – all while retaining the comforts of modern living.

Great care was taken to ensure that modern features like the stone-top island bench merge seamlessly with moulded wooden cabinets and reclaimed hardwood floors.

With no shortage of storage and fitted with state-of-the-art Miele appliances, this kitchen is both stylish and practical.

Extending from the kitchen, a combined meals and family area opens to the patio via three large sliding glass doors with a bespoke hardwood frame.

For those who find the open-plan family room a little too modern, look no further than the second formal living room. With three large front-facing windows, a fireplace (with a vintage wooden mantle), and a pendant from the 1920s, this room is the definition of stately.

It also leads directly to a large master bedroom that has both an ensuite and its own set of three beautiful stained-glass windows.

Likewise, the kids have their own space in the form of a rumpus room that connects to three spacious bedrooms and a large shared bathroom.

When asked what makes the house stand out, Brad says, “for me, that separation between the kid’s bed and rumpus rooms from the rest of the house is really attractive. For those looking to downsize, it would be great for the grandkids”.

Stepping outside, the backyard has a north-facing outdoor entertainment space with a large north-facing deck.

As you descend its steps, you’ll find yourself strolling down a lush grass walkway lined with a diverse variety of plants.

Brad highlighted the quality of landscaping.

“The garden has been very carefully planned, and the plants are quite established. That really gives a great amount of privacy and they’re great at blocking out the heat in summer.”

For many, though, the pièce de résistance will be the incredible 59 sqm loft.

With a skylight, toilet and large window, this space could be used for almost anything – the ultimate work-from-home space, a home gym, teenager’s retreat or even short-stay accommodation – the possibilities are endless.

Less than a kilometre from the Queanbeyan town centre, the home is just up the road from Queanbeyan Park and lots of other lifestyle options, including Queanbeyan Pool just over the road, and St Gregory’s Primary School is an easy walk away.

10 Lenane Street in Queanbeyan will go to auction on Sunday, 10 December, at 2 pm. For more information on this property, call Ray White’s Brad O’Mara at 0402 343 771, and be sure to check out the latest listings on Zango.
