Security cameras have filmed a group of trail bike riders driving into the car park outside the Belconnen Police Station and causing chaos before fleeing.

The riders rip up dirt, conduct burnouts, perform wheelies and drive close to the front doors of the station itself.

One of the riders even gives a wave to those inside the station.

But their escapades don’t last long. When a police car arrives, with blue and red lights blazing, the four flee the scene across the pavement.

But police allege one didn’t get far.

A 19-year-old man from Higgins came off his bike in the nearby Chan Street, and police officers arrived to see him trying to get back onto his vehicle.

“Police will allege he then rode over a garden bed before falling off the bike again,” an ACT Policing spokesperson said.

He was arrested while he tried to get back on his bike for the second time.

The incident on Monday night (17 March) was captured on closed-circuit television footage obtained by Region.

While the 19-year-old man has been charged over his alleged involvement and granted bail, police said their investigations are continuing.

These hoons recognise weakness. They know the judicial system is a revolving door of slaps on the wrist

You don’t know anything about these kids other than they they were caught and have been changed….but that doesn’t stop you making things up. What a pathetic way to live.
