Police are calling for information about “suspicious activity” near a visitor centre in a southern Canberra national park after the discovery of a woman at the centre this week.
Emergency services received a report that a woman was found at the Namadgi Visitor Centre at about 6:30 am on Tuesday (18 March), an ACT Policing spokesperson said.
The centre is located off Naas Road in the Namadgi National Park.
“Police are appealing to anyone with information about the incident to come forward,” the police spokesperson said.
“At this stage, police do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the ACT community.”
The spokesperson said police are seeking information from anyone in the vicinity of the visitor centre between 5:30 pm on Monday and 6:15 am on Tuesday, anyone with dashcam footage or anyone who saw suspicious activity on Naas Road overnight.
